Prince’s type
Unfortunately, type design neither makes you as famous as 50 Cent nor as wealthy as Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Alsaud, so why bother with it? In this issue, IDPURE has given the floor to professionals in this field so that they can provide some answers. Seven designers and two design schools help us to form an idea of who does type design, a subtle and sometimes offputting discipline. A practice which has not lost an iota of its force but on the contrary, which benefits from a growing interest on the part of the young generation in all the areas of visual creation. For this special issue N°12, IDPURE – in partnership with B&P Typefoundry – sought the new generation representatives of different schools – conceptual and stylistic – thus hoping to give a better idea of the amazing diversity of practices and areas of research available in type design. Here is an edition then which reflects, in the same way as the image, the beauty of the typeface and the image of the text.
